What is Affiliate Marketing And How to Start in Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate Marketing And How to Start in Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate Marketing? That much is quite easy. It’s when you sell someone else’s product on their behalf and they pay you for doing so. It’s not restricted to the online marketing sphere but the internet age has certainly made it more popular and a very easy way to make money online. If you have an interest in a topic and you’re sure others have too, then chances are there are products that can be sold via an affiliate system.

For example, a vital part of online marketing (for the most part) is having a website and to start a website you need a domain name – the bit that people type in to find your website, and some hosting – where your website is built. Companies that sell website hosting often use affiliates to bring more customers to them. It’s a win for these companies because they can concentrate on doing what they do and they let other people bring customers to them because this is often done through a layer of trust.

For instance: Namecheap sell domain names. You want a domain name and because you know me and you know that I do some online marketing and you trust my judgement and value my opinions. You say to me, “Hey Steven. Where is a good place to get a domain name?” I tell you “Namecheap. Here’s their link – http://sl-m.co/nmcp“. I also tell you (because the laws in several countries tell me that I have to tell you and because I’m honest). “This is an affiliate link. If you buy something from Namecheap using this link, I will get some commission. Don’t worry though, you won’t be charged more for using it.”

Related Sales

Being a good friend (and good at affiliate marketing), the next thing I will ask you is if you have any hosting to go with your domain name.

If you tell me no, then I will follow up by offering you a hosting company I know of  that I think would be suited to your needs. If I know you are starting out but determined to make a lot of effort I would suggest someone like Bluehosthttp://sl-m.co/bluehost (again via an affiliate link – the disclosures above still apply).

If I suspected that this was just a passing fancy for you, I might suggest a cheaper hosting solution like Dorset Hosting http://sl-m.co/dorsethosting as I have used and trust them myself. (Not as fast as Bluehost, not 24hr but still good customer support and just easy to work with to set up websites).

Now in each of the above cases I would get a commission if my links were used to get to the sites.

In the first instance I would get a percentage of the sale from Namecheap, the more the customer bought, the more I’d get. In the case of Bluehost, I would get a one-off payment no matter how much was purchased at the time. In the final case, Dorset Hosting, I would get an amount every renewal date depending on the package purchased.

So all three companies pay me for sending someone to their site who buys, but the conditions are different in each case.

All 3 are valid methods of getting affiliates to promote their products, but which pays more in the long-run?

How Much Will I Get?

In the case of Namecheap, the commission varies between 20% to 35% depending on the product. For a single .com domain name (currently $7.95) that would be $1.58 – not a great deal of money, but it’s not a high-ticket item either.

If I send a buyer to Bluehost, I would get a one-off payment of $65. Quite a decent payout considering that a monthly cost of a hosting package is around $3.95, but Bluehost think for the long-term. They know a customer could stay for years and those few dollars each month soon add up and easily cover the cost of an affiliate payment for them.

Devon Hosting’s base hosting package is $10 a year, from which I’d get $1 so I wouldn’t get rich that way either.

You can see why affiliate marketers push Bluehost’s package the hardest. There’s a good up-front payment and somebody else deals with all the support problems (and hosting can have many of those).

Are There Better Commission Rates?

Of course there are. Commission rates of between 50% up to 100% are quite common online where there are few overheads and no real limits on digital products. Even on multi-thousand dollar products, 30% up to 50% can be quite easy to find – but why isn’t everybody offering them?

Mostly it’s down to self-confidence. Some people just don’t feel comfortable asking potential customers to part with hundreds of dollars, but in order to make a living wage online, you have to get over that issue and be prepared to push these big-ticket items. A car salesman has no qualms about getting you to part with $20k for a modest vehicle that loses a third of its value the moment it’s driven out of the showroom. Good digital training has the potential to earn the buyer back his money in short-order if he puts in the necessary work, so it’s not something you need to be shy about.

You may have to gain an amount of trust though from the vendors who sell the big-ticket products which means offering low and mid-ticket items first to build up your reputation and confidence.

Where Can I Find Affiliate Products to Sell?

One of the most famous affiliate netorks (places where products are offered for affiliates to sell) is Clickbank. A big advantage of Clickbank is that most of the products do not need permission from the vendor if you wish to offer it. You sign up, create your affiliate name and that becomes part of your affiliate link. The vendor sets the commission rate (normally 50-75%) and all you have to do is offer the product to interested people and collect the commissions.

Clickbank’s biggest ‘disadvantage’ is the wait period between the sale and the commission payment. It can be up to 6 weeks as it’s 30 days after the end of the next 2-week period in which the sale was made. There are a few other conditions that have to be met by the new affiliate too.

Clickbank has products in a huge range of niches and something can be found in almost every topic.

If you are more into the ‘make money online’ niches then two good places to look at are are JVZoo and WarriorPlus. The commissions run up to 100% although you must request approval from the vendor before offering a product. Payouts can be either 30 days, 15 days or instant – if you have built up the right amount of sales and trust – and not too many returns!

What Next?

The obvious thing to do is to find products in a niche you are interested in and write reviews about them on your blog (can be a free blog like WordPress, Blogger or Weebly) and include your affiliate links at key points in the review. Tell everyone who might be interested about your review, then let the readers decide if they want to buy.

The more honest you are, the more readers you’ll get, so don’t be afraid to say what you really feel about a product.

Don’t have a blog or don’t want to set one up? Learn how to make video reviews and put them up on YouTube.

Don’t want to do either of these -Don’t bother with affiliate marketing. You need to be willing to put some effort in. It’s not push-button and nothing will happen for you if you don’t do anything.

Last Few Tips

Find some way to shorten those lengthy affiliate links you can get. You probably noticed that all mine are shortened with my own custom domain (sl-m.co). You don’t have to use a custom domain, bit.ly or tinyurl.com will do nicely. Anything to hide your personal link and stop people replacing your affiliate ID with their own.

Don’t bother people who aren’t interested. They won’t buy and you just look bad.

Look out for related sales. If you find something closely related and extra helpful to people who have bought one type of product, you stand a high chance of getting them interested in the related product.

Be real and be honest. People prefer honesty over total enthusiasm.

If it isn’t fun, go and do something else.

How To Build Your Own Sales Funnel

How To Build Your Own Sales Funnel

Everyone tells you – create a product and make a sales funnel. It’s all very easy to say, but unless you have the knowledge, it’s not so easy to do.Here’s my take on How To Build Your Own Sales Funnel.

Sure, there are some very nice online services that can help you put together a sales funnel from front-end freebie to the final high-ticket offer, but some of them are gosh-darned expensive and still require an amount of expertise to use properly. How To Build Your Own Sales Funnel

And what if you’re starting from a PLR (Private Label Rights) package? You can sit down with the doc version and make enough changes so that it hardly resembles the original but what if you want to take it beyond the single upsell that is normally provided?

‘Start with the end in mind’ is one of the pieces of advice normally dished out at this stage and I have found that taking it literally is a good way to design and build your sales funnel.

Start at the end

Let’s start with a 3 part funnel – a free gift, the first offer and a final upsell. You don’t need to stop at 3 offers, but after this stage, it’s only repetition. I’m also going to assume that you’re self-hosting the pages and not using an affiliate network like JVZoo or WarriorPlus. (You can use these services even if you’re not going to offer the products out to affiliates, but bear in mind they will take a cut of your sales too).

If you’re not going through a pre-built system or a service, then I usually find it is easiest to start with the final download page that you will control (nothing stopping you having a related affiliate offer on this page though. It is the point though at which the buyer leaves your pages and goes onto someone else’s). When you have the final page done, you can then step back to the sales page for that item, knowing you already have the links that will take you onwards – handy for the payment button if nothing else.

You then go onwards to prepare the download page for the middle item in the funnel and it’s made easier because you have the upsell link to the final item already there for constructing and testing. Then the sales page for the middle item, the download page for the freebie and then the squeeze page.

By constructing the funnel backwards like this, you will have more of the links ready and there will be fewer visits to the payment processor’s sales button tools page as well as each of the other pages.

To my mind, this is the easy way on how to build your own sales funnel and to keep track of where you are in the design and construction process.

As for exactly what to add, you do have to make sure that there is enough value at each stage to justify the user reaching into their wallet once again. What you don’t want is them reaching for the refund link or payment dispute system. Do them wrong once and they will remember you for a long while.

3 Tactics Affiliate Marketers Need To Thrive Online

3 Tactics Affiliate Marketers Need To Thrive Online

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest pay-check. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

Review Pages

Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on Reviews, Sticker You Review each and every product (or product type) and nothing more. If you really are strapped for cash, then consider using sub-domains. They are considered separate sites by search engines.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

Better yet, buy or at least get review access to the product and write about your own experiences using it. Quantity, quality and length of videos, amount of money needed to start up and continue a project and your own feelings on how viable or useful the product is. A case-study like this makes an excellent bonus or pre-sales pitch.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline and sub-headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

For many readers, lists are easier to read, so if you can arrange a list of features, benefits or tips in your article, readers will be able to pick up the high-points without reading the whole article and if they’re interested, it will encourage them to read the rest fully.

If you have reviewed related items, make sure your posts link to them and highlight those links. If people didn’t like one product, they may like another. Consider differently priced items, especially if you are looking at something at the extreme ends of impulse purchases. Better yet – Do comparison articles looking at 3 to 5 products claiming to do similar things, but be honest – don’t just praise the one that gives you the highest commission!

Offer free products to your readers. If possible, position them at the very top of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign-up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Giveaways These products – reports, cheatsheets, mindmaps, short videos – should talk about identifying and (partially) solving a single problem to make it interesting for readers and potential buyers. It is acceptable to include an affiliate link or two to related products as well as links to your review site(s). Don’t go overboard on the links as it will put off more people than those who find them useful.

You can create these products yourself quite easily either from scratch or by using Public Label Rights (PLR) material or by commissioning them from freelancers who can be found on sites like Fiverr, Freelancer or Guru (all .com sites)

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: a closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By capturing their email address and then placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified periods, you can remind them of the product they looked at and thought they might want later. Be sure that the majority of the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not always make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable or profitable. Use dollar amounts if you have proven sales (someone else’s, if not your own). Focus mainly on the benefits to the user – how it will help and secondarily on the features (page quantity, video length, etc.). Include compelling subject lines in the email.

As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” in emails because there are still older spam filters that will dump emails based on triggers (like ALL CAPS, multiple exclamation marks, dollar symbols) and that kind of content into the junk folder before even anyone gets around to reading them. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

Remind your readers that if they find your emails going to the Spam folder to whitelist your email address by putting it into their contacts list and dragging and dropping the email back into the Inbox. On Gmail they may have to look in other folders (Promotions etc) as well.

Blog Posts

Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 400-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readersBlog Post Image 1 to your site in a day.

Do post exchanges with other like-minded bloggers. Part of the post will be a signature block which can contain a link back to your site. Of course, you will be hosting a post and link to their site too, but if the main thrust of the site’s contents are related, this will not be a bad thing and each of you will get readers who might not have seen your styles before.

Go out and discover other blogs and forums where like-minded people visit on a regular basis. By becoming one of the crowd (at least to start with) you will become a ‘known name’ and by being an active participant – asking and answering questions, over valid and full comments, you will gain expert status. You are usually allowed to reference non-sales articles within an answer and another link in your signature block – 2 more ways of getting targeted traffic to your site.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.

Besides, think of the huge pay-checks you will be receiving…

How To Start in IM When You Have No Money

How To Start in IM When You Have No Money

“If your product is so good, let me have it for free and I’ll pay you with the profits I make”.

“I want your training but I can’t afford it. Reduce the price for me”.

“I bought your product a week ago and I’m still not rich. When will it all happen for me?”

Product creators or vendors are faced with these and similar questions week in, week out. People who think that internet marketing is instant riches and millionaire lifestyle without work and it’s theirs for the asking.

It’s not going to happen that way.Money

All marketing is a combination of time, effort and money and although most costs are reduced by solely using digital marketing, it doesn’t mean that everything is (or should be) free for the taking.

One of the biggest problems is that you will need money for a domain name and hosting. Yes I know you can get by without these things, but if you’re planning on making a serious income and getting your name known, you will need a place of reference for people, and that means your own website.

For some, dropping a few dollars for a domain name and the hosting to put a site on is not a problem, but for many it can be, so it seems like you’re caught between a rock and a hard place where you need a domain to make money, but you can’t get a domain until you have some money.

What can you do?

The first thing to do is to take stock of your talents. Can you write, draw or some other creative aptitude? Do you have programming skills, are you an organiser or have some other intangible but useful talent? You probably have a sellable skill and your first port of call could be a micro-job site like Fiverr.

Five bucks a job ($4 after the site takes its cut) doesn’t sound very much, but if it only takes you a few minutes to do each task then doing 5 an hour puts you in an above average wage position. Building up to getting an average of 5 tasks an hour will take a bit of time, but you want this income, don’t you?

Once you get a decent reputation you will be able to increase the range of your tasks or have upgrades that cost much more, bringing you consistent income or at least enough to get you started on the path you really want. No one says you have to do micro-tasks forever!

I strongly suggest you don’t go down the clicking ads route unless you have some expert guidance or you know what other clickers are looking for (Hint – it’s traffic to their offers). You can spend an awful lot of time and have little to show for it. Yes, you can earn clicks to a website, but can you earn enough to send people to a place that will earn you money?

The best way to earn from ‘paid to click’ type sites is by taking the paid upgrades and offering more ‘paid to click’ sites to the other clickers. The paid upgrades offer a higher proportion of income or more clicks or shorter view times, but in the end, you’ll spend a lot of time for poor rewards.

And you’d rather put any earnings towards a good training course, wouldn’t you?

If you are into your writing, then creating ebooks could bring you some rewards. You can either publish them yourself via Kindle or Smashwords or sell them as PLR (Public Label Rights), so that others can modify them and use them as their own – although you’ll probably need a website for that.

A good halfway house is to put 400-500 word articles onto article directories and use the resource box to link to related affiliate offers. Many of the directories can be quite strict about the type of links you put in the resource box, so it’s not always the easiest or best method, but it’s something to bear in mind.

So if you have a product, course or training in mind and you’re starting from zero, you may have to be creative on how you achieve your goal. Always keep that target in mind and consider any ways you can to bring in small amounts at a time, keeping them mounting towards your target.

JV Giveaway – What Is It?

JV Giveaway – What Is It?

Joining a JV Giveaway is a big thing at the moment. They have had a bit of a revival over the last few months. Even big name marketers are running them, and they must work otherwise why would big names like Reed Floren and Andy Waring even be getting involved with them.

Simply put, a JV Giveaway is when a group of marketers get together and jointly offer a number of freebies from each of them. A short description of each freebie is advertised on a common site and everybody sends traffic to that site. To get the freebie a visitor has to sign up through a squeeze page as normal, but whilst on the site, they will see plenty of free offers from all of the JVs (known as contributors). This gives all the JVs a chance to get new subscribers.

JV Giveaway plans

There are usually extra complexities in that JVs who send more visitors get their giveaways pushed higher up the list, so there is an incentive to get as many people as possible to see the site. JVs who buy an introductory offer (usually only a few dollars) get upgraded to being a ‘paid contributor’ and can usually show more freebies and in some cases, be allowed to display a paid offer through a banner or text ad.

The usual way of running a JV Giveaway is via an established system which runs 2-weekly giveaways and attracts a co-sponsor to be the ‘lead name’ on a giveaway.

The leading system at the moment runs giveaways for 2 weeks and has a new one starting each Tuesday and Friday – in other words, up to 8 giveaways a month with up to 4 running at any one time, assuming there are enough co-sponsors.

How to Become a Contributor

You become a contributor by being invited by either the co-sponsor or another contributor – basically, you have to know someone who’s already ‘inside’. Once you’ve contributed once, you will be contacted by the main system each time a new JV Giveaway is announced (i.e. a new co-sponsor has been found).

Once you’ve been invited into a JV Giveaway, all you need to start with is an existing squeeze page. You’ll be asked to enter various details into a form – the bare basics are a giveaway name, the squeeze page, the direct download page, a short description (up to 50 words) and a long description (up to 300 words). You’ll also be asked for a support email address and a value for the giveaway.

As a free contributor, you’ll only be allowed 1 or 2 giveaways whereas, if you buy the paid product you’re offered when you sign up ($3 to $10), you could be allowed up to 8 giveaways, as well as text ads and banner offers.

If you don’t already have a squeeze page or think you don’t have anything you could use as a giveaway, the co-sponsor will often add some PLR for people to use, but bear in mind that a lot of people could be using the same stuff and to stand out you have to offer something different. This could be time to dig out some PLR or MRR that’s been hiding on your hard drive for a while.

You may see rules about ‘nothing over 2 years old’ or ‘no duplicate offers’, but I have yet to see these strongly enforced. You are also expected to send visitors to the JV Giveaway site and people who send no-one could be expelled from the JV Giveaway, so there are 2 reasons why you need to send traffic – even if you just buy 50 clicks from a solo ad vendor.

A recent idea that being used is that you can pay a small fee and actually buy your way further up the list. For a fee, you can buy a certain number of points and distribute them amongst your giveaways. If you don’t have much of an email list, this is one way to get seen first. The fee also ‘fireproofs’ you from not sending visitors, so there’s a bit of protection there too.

How to be a Member and Get Your Free Giveaways

This is the really easy bit. You have to either know where the giveaway sites are or be invited by a co-sponsor or contributor. As stated before, contributors like inviting new members as it pushes their freebies higher up the list and, as with search engines, the stuff on page one gets the first visibility and therefore the most clicks.

Once you’re in, you are free to browse around and look through the list of giveaways to see what you’d like to get. You will have to sign up to a squeeze page and chances are, you may have seen some of the stuff before, but there is also a lot of newer and unseen items on offer.

Some canny marketers use JV Giveaways as a testing ground for new squeeze pages (including A/B testing variations) and newly written freebies. Anything that gets good feedback can then be put out into the wider world.

For the most part, the giveaways tend to be internet marketing oriented, but you will occasionally find stuff for other niches, mindset products and WordPress plugins and themes useful for all marketers. Very often, the giveaways are the whole PLR package and not just the ebook. Once or twice, contributors have offered multi-part video courses so it’s not just old PLR ebooks.

I Want In to the Next JV Giveaway

If you decide you want to join in the next JV Giveaway then please feel free to drop me an email (admin@stevenlucasmarketing.com) and tell me whether you’d like to be a contributor or a member. If you need help to set up a squeeze page, either because you need a product or need help to set a squeeze page up, then I’d be more than willing to help. Again, contact me by email.

I look forward to seeing you on the inside.

Blogging: Introduction to Online Journaling

Blogging: Introduction to Online Journaling

Blogging and social networking are inextricably linked in the sense that both contain certain features and certain properties of one another. Both are aimed at creating a wide movement as far as multimedia interaction is concerned. Though it is true that blogs can be regulated and kept very private, the main purpose of them is to reach out to a number of people, to have a medium to voice your opinion.

Another similarity is that both these concepts have existed in cyberspace for almost a decade now, but in the initial stages, both were rather exclusive of one another. Only in the recent times have they been merged, and their similarity in motives truly recognised.

Blogging is essentially done to channel your thoughts out onto an online journal. You also want other people to read what you have written.

This way, you go about coming in touch with people from all over the world who you would not have otherwise known. Similar is the function of social networking. It is a hub where the young and the hearty flock. The chances of getting an audience at such a platform are high.

Blogging Workflow

The origination of the term ‘blog’ is interesting. It was initially called a ‘weblog’ meaning a log or a diary or a journal that helps you to record your thoughts on a day to day basis. In that sense, it was rather in its primitive stages and did not turn into an instrument for propaganda immediately. This term was later shortened to blog and this is when free blogging services like Blogger became extremely popular.

As mentioned earlier, blogging today is not restricted to only maintaining a journal. It has truly become a platform where various kinds of people from all walks of life, whether they have the same ideologies or not, conflate, and discuss the matters they think are important to them.

Blogging in the twenty-first century has come to become an important tool for advertising for people who wish to market their products online, for politicians who wish to sell their ideologies, and reach out, to the masses.

Moreover, creating a blog and maintaining it does not require a fortune. Everybody now has a personal blog and it is all free of cost. Also, one does not need to be a computer engineer or a graphic or web designer in order to embellish their blog.

Unlike a website which operates on a different domain, and for which every single template and tab needs to be designed and created from the scratch, blog sites do not need such knowledge. The blogging service providers have their own inbuilt templates and fonts which have to be chosen by the bloggers as per their own tastes and preferences.

Blogging is an ideal way to make new friends and come in contact with more people than you can do in the actual word, from all quarters of the world. Such diverse people will obviously have differing viewpoints. Therefore, this gives scope for a good deal of discussion and debate with all points of view being taken on board.

Blogs can also be for the sole purpose of making new friends and socialising. That is why social networking sites have picked up the clue and in these times social networking and blogging has, to some extent, been combined, and almost become indistinguishable.

It would be interesting to note that the word ‘blog’ is both a noun and a verb. This leads us to the fact that blogging in some sense also helps get rid of hassles of publishing. Though your work will not come out in print, you know that you can publish your work – your articles, pictures, videos, etc – yourself through your blog.

Therefore, it may be your own personal journal that you wish others to read or your works of art in terms of the stories or articles that you write, or the movies that you make. You can share almost any content with the world at large.

It must also be noted that just like you do not have to be a web designer to create your own blog, you need not be a professional writer, a filmmaker or a photographer to publish content on your blog. It is just a space for you to indulge in your own small artistic pursuits and share those moments with others. Blogging must therefore be exploited to its full potential.

Internet Marketing for Business – 02

In the last issue, we talked about why every business needs a website. In this issue, we are going to talk about increase your online visibility to attract more customers for your business through guest posting.

Getting traffic to your website isn’t just about building links and ranking in the search engines. That’s just one source of potential customers. Social media is the next source that most people consider and that’s definitely a way to increase your reach. The truth is that the more visible you are online; the more traffic you will get. That’s why guest posting on other people’s websites can increase the traffic to your own site exponentially.

How does guest posting work?

When you write an article for another website, all the people who visit that site will see what you’ve written. If it’s well written and engaging they will read the entire article and see the author box which gets included at the end of every guest post. If they enjoyed your article, they may then click on one of the links you’ve included in your bio. That’s where your traffic comes from. And this is traffic that wouldn’t necessarily have found you in any other way.

In addition, if you can create a conversation by encouraging people to comment on your guest post, you can increase traffic even more. Readers start to make a connection with you through the comments and want to learn more by clicking on your avatar that links to your site.

Let’s go over a few methods for getting traffic from guest posts.

– Write quality posts on relevant topics.

You should always be presenting your best quality writing anywhere you post. However, when you write for another person’s website you also need to choose topics that are highly relevant to their readers (as well to your own market). They won’t read your article if it’s not relevant to them and the guest website owner may not want to publish it otherwise.

– Select sites whose readers are your target market.

Choose the places you guest post carefully to make the most of your efforts. Find ones that get a decent amount of traffic from people that you are trying to attract as customers. Gaining highly targeted traffic is one of the biggest benefits of guest posting.

– Always keep track of comments.

As soon as you know the post has been published, subscribe to the comments so that you’ll be able to respond. Whenever someone makes a comment, be sure to leave your own response right away. They will appreciate it and often click through on your link.

– Write a tempting bio box.

There’s no point writing an amazing guest post just to have a boring author bio at the end that leads to nowhere. Write a few words about yourself and then invite readers to click on a specific link for something, such as a special offer, report, free giveaway, etc.

Here are just a few ideas for topics that you can write a guest post on:

– Create an FAQ about a topic related to your industry
– Describe the most common mistakes people make in your market
– Share your own experience with a relevant tool or tactic
– Do a Top Ten list of best practices for success in your market
– Write a “how to” tutorial on a topic that typically challenges people

If your guest posts are valuable and well-written, they will increase your visibility as an expert in your field. If the sites you choose to guest website on have readers in your target market, you will start drawing more and more traffic to your site. And, as targeted traffic, these are the readers who are most likely to become long-term readers and customers of your own.

Make sure you look for your next issue soon. We will be talking about how using the right keyword phrases can generate more traffic to your business website.

Internet Marketing Tips for Business – 01

In each post of Internet Marketing Tips for Business, you will learn valuable information that will help you promote your business using proven effective Internet marketing methods. In this first issue, we are going to talk about why every business needs a website.

Have you ever searched for a specific local business online, only to find listings on other people’s sites?

It’s hard to believe, but there are still quite a few brick and mortar businesses that haven’t created their own website yet. Without a website, businesses have no presence online. But it’s not just about keeping up with all the other local businesses. There are huge profit and consumer relationship benefits as well.

– Consistent visibility

Even though local businesses are offline, their customers are online. By only being visible when customers walk down the street or drive by, these businesses are invisible the rest of the time. However, people spend a huge amount of time online, whether it is on their computer, smartphone, laptop or tablet. They search for information online, not by driving down the street.

– Communicating with Customers Regularly

A website gives the business owner a venue for collecting email addresses, which in turn is a vehicle for communication. Most people still check their email regularly. Instead of spending money on print advertising, it’s much cheaper to send customers special offers and discounts via email. At the same time, email can be used to build a relationship with customers by offering other tips and advice.

– Build Your Online Brand Awareness

Your website is completely under your control, so businesses can use it to create and promote their brand image. Everything from the design of the site to the content and interaction that occurs there builds the image that you want the world to see. You can use it as a kind of dynamic billboard which the whole world can see and interact with.

– Demonstrate Social Proof

People make purchasing decisions based on recommendations more than any other factor. By including testimonials from customers, businesses can offer the proof that prospective buyers need. Ratings and reviews are another way to help people make purchasing decisions, though they are more difficult to control.

– Go Global

As a local business, you have a very limited prospect and customer base. However, once a business goes online, the potential for more sales is only limited by the logistics of shipping. And international delivery rates are cheaper than ever, so that’s not an excuse! In fact, some websites, like Etsy, have made it feasible for even the smallest individual business owner to give the whole world access to their products.

While it’s certainly possible to survive purely as a local business, the potential to grow and prosper is far greater when you have a website also. It’s just a matter of being visible to customers and prospects in the place they spend much of their time while opening up your business to a whole new market.

Make sure you look for your next issue soon. We will be talking about increase your online visibility to attract more customers for your business through guest posting.

Build your List – 4 Crucial Things You Need To Do

Build your List – 4 Crucial Things You Need To Do

If you want to build your list, here are few things to consider when you start.

Online marketing may have developed a sudden surge these past few years, but many in the know how have felt its rise even from way then. As more internet based businesses are put up, the need to develop new marketing skills and knowledge based on this new medium have arisen. More and more marketing strategies are being discovered and developed to cope with the changing face of business the business world.

The demand for online marketing tips and strategies have drastically grown and a new form of business has been born, internet marketing strategies. While there are companies that are all too eager to help your site and business build a clientele for a fee, there also many ways that can spread the word about your sites subsistence in a more cost free way. One of this is opt-in email marketing, also known as permission marketing. This is ‘the list’ that marketers talk about. Here’s how to build your list.

Email List Email Marketing

Opt-in marketing requires the permission of a willing customer to subscribe to your marketing materials, materials that take form in newsletters, catalogues and promotional mailings via e-mail. The more opt-in marketing mail is sent, the more chances there is to bag sales and more sales. To do this, you must build your list consisting of all those who wants to subscribe to your opt-in marketing list.

To build your list, you will need to get targeted customers. This is a good list since they already have shown interest in what you have to show and sell since they have willingly signed in for your list.

These are the people who have liked what they have seen on your site and have decided they want to see more of what you can offer and maybe even purchase whatever product or service your company and site has to offer.

Many people would think that to build your list would take hard work and a lot of time to build and collect names and addresses. This is not so. It takes a bit of patience and some strategies, but when you build your list, you open your site and your business to a whole new world of target markets. Take the effort to take your business to a new level, if traffic increase and good profits are what you want, an email opt-in list will do wonders for your business ventures.

There are many sources and articles on the internet, available for everyone to read and follow to build your list. Sometimes they may be confusing because there seem to be so many and their different ways. Different groups of people would have different approaches in building an opt-in list, but no matter how diverse many methods are, there are always some crucial things to do to build your list. Here are four of them.

1. Put up a good web form in your site that immediately follows the end of your content. While some may say this is too soon to subscribe for a website visitors application, try to remember that your homepage should provide a quick good impression. If somehow a website visitor finds something that he or she doesn’t like and turns them off, they may just forget about signing up.

A good web form for subscribing to an opt-in list is not hard to do. Just write a simple short statement about how they would like to see more and get updated about the site. Then there should be an area where they could put in their names and e-mail address. This web form will automatically save and send you the data’s inputted. As more people sign in, your list will be growing.

 2. As mentioned in the first tip, make your homepage very, very impressive. You need to have well-written articles and descriptions of your site. Depending on what your site is all about, you need to capture your website visitor’s fancy. Make your site useful and very easy to use. Do not expect everyone to be tech savvy. Invest in having good programming in your site, make your graphics beautiful but don’t over do it.

Don’t waste your time making the homepage too overly large megabyte wise. Not all people have high bandwidth broadband connections, the faster your site gets loaded, the better. Go for a look that borders between simplicity and sophisticated knowledge.

3. Provide good service and products. A return customer is more likely to bring in more business. Even then and now, a satisfied customer will recommend a business always. Word of mouth and recommendations alone can rake in more business than an expensive ad. As your clientele roster grows so shall your list. With more members on the list, the more people will get to know about what you have new to offer.

4. Keep a clean and private list. Never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. If you provide e-mails to others and they get spammed, many will probably unsubscribe to you. Remember, a good reputation will drive in more traffic and subscribers as well as strengthen the loyalty of your customers.

Here’s the sign up form for my list. Please feel free to join in and get more information from me on a regular basis.
