The Easy Cash Webinar and Me

If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, or if you go back through the history, you’ll see that I’m a fan of Alex Jeffreys, his methodology and his products. In fact this blog is a direct result of some of his teachings, although like many others of his students I do add my own touches. Alex is a great believer in useful free offers that actually teach the reader / viewer something genuinely beneficial to their internet marketing life. One of those free offers is the Easy Cash Webinar.

Easy Cash Webinar encapsulates Alex’s basic marketing plans. Obviously there’s not huge detail but if you’re a marketer to any degree, especially if you’re only slightly experienced and need some impetus to get going, then this is ideal viewing for you. Even experienced marketers will learn and earn from the information being freely given.

At around an hour it isn’t going to hold you in place all night whilst eking out a meagre bit of knowledge in return for listening to a huge long sales spiel. (There is one but it’s not huge, and it is relevant). Alex is also big on presentation rather than hogging the camera for himself so there’s plenty of time to grab screen shots and make notes although of course you can just watch the video again should you wish.

Also in character with Alex’s generosity is the size and quality of the item for sale at the end of the presentation. I won’t spoil the surprise by telling you all about it, but needless to say that if you get it, you won’t be disappointed. It’s big and it’s clever.

So you’re probably asking, where does the ‘and Me’ bit come in?

So am I. It was an interesting webinar and I’d have loved to have been at the original so I could have asked some questions. Alex is usually more than generous with his answers too and the recorded Q&As in some of his trainings are worth as much as the main course itself.

Related to my Facebook App

As stated a couple of times before in this blog, I’ve created a Facebook app directed at helping me get signups to my email marketing list. To promote the product and also to encourage people to click through the app (which forces the person to share the squeeze page in order to get the free download) I’ve created this video

It’s not the first video I’ve done, and most of them have used Powerpoint to create a slideshow, this is the first one where I’ve done the narration myself. OK, so I’m no continuity announcer and it probably wouldn’t have cost me much to get a good one done on Fiverr, but it is my voice. I should possibly have added my face as well or even had my narration in a picture in picture video in the corner, but I don’t yet have the tools for that.

The point is though is that I have a video up on YouTube that points to the app link and another chance to gather some subscribers.

I love this IM stuff.

Mentoring and Other Stuff This Week

I have to say this mentoring stuff is hard work when you’re doing it off the cuff.

I’ve had 4 people approach me this week requesting some help with either their approach to MWA – Marketing With Alex (One of Alex Jeffreys’ tutorial courses) or with their marketing in general. They found me through Alex’s MWA Facebook group. I’m still getting into what their individual requirements are although fortunately they’re all at similar stages with similar wants and needs as well as similar abilities. That makes things a lot easier than it could be.

I’m collecting and collating all the stuff I’m writing for them and sending by email (no conference calls at the moment) so I can put together a formalised course, something I can charge for obviously, but in the meantime, these guys are getting my aid for free. I have no doubt that I’ll be able to work with each of them n future projects. The one common problem is the ‘want it now’ thing. It’s not an attitude or driving force, it’s a mentality that’s been implanted by too many other sellers (not marketers – they’re a different breed) in order to sell the shiny objects.

My first Facebook viral app is going well. It’s live and is pulling in signups to my list, not in huge numbers yet, but it’s only been live a day or so. I will write a follow up review to my earlier one on Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0. I do have a WarriorPlus affiliate request in for this product but the seller has not responded after 48 hours. Either he’s doing well enough on his own to not want affiliates or he’s busy responding to support requests to check his WP account.

I actually think it may be well worth while doing  an article on the Warrior Forum and WarriorPlus and how they tie in together, perhaps throwing in JVZoo, Commission Junction and PayDotCom so that marketers can be aware of alternatives to ClickBank.

Other than that my own activities have been restricted to blog commenting, answering Facebook queries (which got me the mentoring gigs) and trying to do a bit more on my own products. The latter activity has slowed right down due to the unexpected mentoring requests. I want to do them though as positive results with these guys will enhance my reputation – which is what this blog is about! Being flexible enough to change priorities may be a good thing in some ways, but it plays havoc with marketing plans! Time for a plan re-write, methinks.

New Facebook App For List Building & Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 review

Busy day! As I said in my previous post, I’ve obtained a copy of Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 and I promised a user report / review and so I shall. First of all though here’s a link to the app itself. One of the pages still needs tweaking but it’s out there ‘in the wild’.

Facebook Viral Bomb V2.0 (by Nelios dos Reis) itself is a WordPress plugin which links to your Facebook account. The plugin helps you create a Facebook post, a WordPress squeeze page and download page – pretty standard stuff if you know what you’re doing, I suppose, but for me it was a real learning curve. This was not helped by the variable quality of the support material.

On purchase, you’re taken to the plugin’s WordPress site and asked to create login credentials. Once inside you’re shown the Welcome page which tells you a little about the site and how to proceed. The same menu choices appear at the top and on the left. The important ones are the download and license selections. So far so good and no problems. A clean layout and although the text is quite small, it’s legible – even to my poor eyesight.

The problems start (to my mind) when you select the ‘FVB Strategy’ menu. It would have been better labelled as Tutorial just to get the right attention, although perhaps that’s just me. The contents (at first glance) look like they have been well thought out with 3 demonstration links so you can see what the pages could look like when you create them, 3 videos and 3 pdf downloads. The page gets quite long and so may have been better of split into several sub-pages, but I’m reviewing it as it is.

The videos are not great visual quality and the sound is awfully muffled at times – either my sound codecs are poor or the seller’s microphone is not great. The video content is barely more then introductions to the pdfs and do not really add anything to the tutorial, and in places Nelio gets confused as to what he’s doing and there’s a bit of stop / start in the recordings. It’s more sales than tales.

The pdfs are variable in content and quality. The first one is good in the beginning and gives step by step instructions on installing and setting up the plugin – although to be frank if you need that sort of help then you shouldn’t be using this sort of software. Then again, everyone has to start somewhere. The level of detail in other places though presupposes a much higher level of knowledge. The author has remembered his target audience in places and forgotten it in others.

The 2nd pdf spends half of its pages going through a World of Warcraft support site, curating content to create a free pdf to make a giveaway document, including sources of images and editing software to make a cover and other support images. Nice, but way off topic. Only at the end of the document does it get back to actually teaching you how to move onto the next phase of creating your app. Again, if it were me, I’d have made the document creation section a totally separate document and kept the tutorial purely on the plugin.

Am I being picky? I don’t really think so.

PDF 3 though is gold. I mean it is a WSO in its own right. How to use your new app and how to get it to go viral – and quite cheaply too. I could heap more praise on it but it doesn’t need my help. It’s good.

The bonus items are a mixture of reasonable freebies, squeeze pages on other people’s sites and affiliate links. The latter is not really a great idea in a paid product unless you’re getting ‘mates rates’, which I’m not sure that you are.

The OTO is a series of code, backgrounds and buttons for your squeeze pages, some ideas of profitable niches and some more videos. As I haven’t watched them yet I won’t comment, but I don’t have high hopes.

Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 comes in 3 versions – single site, multiple site and developer. The first 2 are self explanatory and the third enables you to create pages for other people. The author suggests using Fiverr, but comments on his WSO thread state they are being created for up to $50 each – which is more reasonable given the work that can go into them.

Can I recommend Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 – On the whole, YES. It makes an awkward task much easier. The training materials do need a serious re-vamp though and I can see there will be an awful lot of support calls from people unsure because they cannot quite hear things in the videos or understand quite white the author means in the documentation. Certainly once I get my JV approved I will be updating links on this page and (possible ironically – though I’ll not be alone in this), creating FB apps to sell this very product.

Half Way Through June

It’s Friday the 13th so I thought I ought to update you good people on the happenings here at stevenlucasmarketing.com.

First bit of news is that sales of ‘How To Be A Social Marketer‘ have started. I won’t say spectacular (just yet) but it’s gaining attention and is available through WarriorPlus and JVZoo. It’s also on Amazon for the Kindle and I’ll be popping over there at the weekend to add it to my CreateSpace portfolio too so it can be seen as a paperback too (Print on demand, so there’ll be no big stack of remainders in my garage).

I’ve also picked up a WordPress plugin called Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 which should help me to increase my list. I’ll let you know more once I’ve RTFM and got a campaign under way.

Other happenings this week is a couple of Kindle ebooks by Kip Piper. She has a series of over 20 books all in the online marketing tutorial niche, linking together to be a complete course. The ones I read were for list generation using LinkedIn and Twitter. On the strength of her suggestions I’ve made some changes to my LinkedIn profile, so that I feature this blog and my internet marketing activities more strongly. Time will tell if it brings in any more traffic from that source. I already do what she suggests for Twitter except for being a bit less pushy and a bit more advice – pretty much in line with what AJ and in fact a lot of other people suggest. Don’t chase the money…

One last ‘happening’ is I got my first request to mentor someone else. Chuffed to my smarties or what! (For American readers… Chuffed – pleased with oneself. Smarties – British M&Ms, the chocolate ones). Still need to set up a first Skype call and I’ve asked him some questions to find out what stage he’s at. I was ‘found’ through the warrior forum just by being local to him – I suppose 50 miles is quite local, anyway!

A couple of nice comments to on AJ’s Marketing With Alex Facebook group too. Apparently my style resonates well so I’ll keep up my postings on there too.

Now working on my next freebie – something around 2000 to 5000 words on brand building, to be used as a lead in for How To Be A Social Marketer. You’ll see it on here first in a week or so, as well as a full report on Facebook Viral Bomb 2.0 when I see for myself what it can do and if it does it!

Become A Social Marketer WSO – Gone Live!

Well that’s it. Sales page has been approved and the WSO on How To Become A Social Marketer has gone live on the Warrior Forum.

It’s not a great sales letter, I know that. I feel it is a great product though and I really hope that others will like it too.

Whether it works or not I have 2 more products in the pipeline, one related and one far more massive that will take time to be ready. All in the long term plan.

How To Start ‘Doing’ Internet Marketing

Of course, Chris has glossed over the sub-steps that are necessary to find a niche, build a web site, drive traffic, capture leads and market to the list because there is far more than can be explained in a 6 minute video. As this site continues to grow, I will pass on the information to you – mostly in small doses because it’s a lot to take in at once, or I will show you where to find the information, especially where I think someone else can explain it better.

So once again the main steps are:

  1. Find a niche where there is a ready stream of buyers
  2. Build a website – can be only one page, can be many, but dedicated to that niche – preferably a sub-niche or sub-sub-niche
  3. Drive traffic (i.e. people or visitors) who are interested in the niche to our site
  4. Capture leads – get the visitors name and email in exchange for a free gift – an ebook, audio or video presentation
  5. Email more information and products to those leads

Now because of the way we market our web page or site, the people are going to be already interested in what we have to offer. They are ‘targeted’ visitors. The kind who are most likely to be buyers. Our free offer is also going to be targeted to our visitors and should be something that will be of good value to them. Tips, techniques or a problem identified and solved for them.

We should also take an opportunity to tell them about ‘us’ as a person, because if they know us and like us – because we share their interest, they will trust us and be more likely to buy from us or at least want to hear more from us.

Finally when we email market to them we should continue to offer more hints, tips and information amongst our sales emails which gives them a reason to stay on our list for longer. People who are only ever ‘sold to’ will drop off our list and possibly diminish our hard earned reputation by telling others that we only ever want to sell and never tell.

So that is Internet Marketing in a very basic nutshell. Over the coming weeks and months I’ll discuss more about each step and some of what needs to be done to complete each one. The pace may be a bit slow for some but I’ll be trying to keep it as non-technical as possible, or where it does need to be technical I will give full explanations. Warrior Forum, War Room, WSO and Warrior Plus

Warrior Forum and Warrior Plus – How To Use Them

I’ve done it. I’ve bitten the bullet and posted ‘How To Become A Social Marketer’ onto the Warrior Forum as a WSO.

For those of you who don’t know, the Warrior Forum is probably the biggest and arguably the best internet marketers forum. It’s free to join and there is a huge amount of free information available to those who take the time to browse. In many ways it can waste, or at least – take up more time, than Facebook. Like many forums it has its characters, spats and arguments, but for the most part it is a valuable resource for the new and experienced marketer. There are 2 particular areas that are of importance.

The first is known as the War Room. This is actually a membership area so it costs to join. At the moment it is $20 a year and although I’ve only just joined (so I can’t tell you definitively), everyone says it is a tremendous resource for information. There are plenty of free offers and tons more assistance than in the free section. People who are here are serious about their marketing.

The other important area is the WSO or Warrior Special Offers section. This is split into sub-sections where people can be hired or offer themselves for hire, offer websites for sale, web hosting and classified ads but the most important is the main WSO section. This where people offer their new (and sometimes not-so-new) products to the world, sometimes before releasing them onto Clickbank, JVZoo or other affiliate sites – usually at a much higher price.

The process of getting a product onto the WSO forum is long-winded rather than complex and can be done in stages.

The first stage is registering your product with an affiliate provider. I chose WarriorPlus, which despite its similar name is not directly a part of the Warrior Forum. It is run by somebody not employed by Warrior Forum although they have been an active member for a very long time. WarriorPlus can handle the payment, affiliate and download of your product or you can manage bits of it yourself, which is handy if you have a complex funnel in place. Filling in the WarriorPlus form is a bit exacting and it took me 3 attempts to give it all the information it initially required. There are some areas that you cannot fill in until later, so these have to wait.

Once you’ve completed the WarriorPlus stage you have the opportunity to grab a button code that you put into your sales letter – wether as HTML or forum code (similar but slightly different) so that people have a button to press to be able to pay you for your product.

I strongly suggest you do the preparation for your sales page offline so you can merely copy and paste it into the next stage. Check your spelling and grammar. Twice at least!

When you’re ready to offer your document you go to the WSO area and click New Thread. What you’re not told beforehand (unless you search carefully) is that you MUST be a War Room member before you can post a WSO. Once you are a member (which is instant upon payment) you’ll be allowed to write your WSO sales page. If you use images in your sales page they must be hosted elsewhere, adding to the complexity of getting it all done.

Pressing ‘Submit’ merely sends your page to a forum administrator who will them approve or disapprove as appropriate. Once approved you are sent to Paypal to hand over another $20 before your page is posted. It is at this stage you grab the thread address of your posting and head back to WarriorPlus to link the two together.

Your WSO page is active and ready to take on hordes of eager buyers, ready to make you rich… Or not as the case may be.

At the time of writing, my sales page is still in the hands of the forum administration pending approval. More to come on what else might needs to be done.

Into June. Now What?

First post for a week, but I have been busy domestically. I know that doesn’t count when it comes to positive action, but as my wife constantly reminds me, there is life away from the internet!

Not really done a great deal since the last posting. Just a link or two each day on Twitter and IBOToolbox pointing to the funnel at http://www.aymayzin.com/d4u/index.html but still no new sign ups. I know the form works because I tested it. I know the first offer is good because I read it before I used it and the back end of the funnel is all related. I could offer my own done for you service as it’s not difficult and then put the takings there to buying solo ads but if no one is signing up, then no one is seeing the free product, let alone anything else down the line.

Just sat through an hour and a quarter Alex Jeffreys webinar. All good stuff as always, but it’s the usual Catch 22 situation that many marketers find themselves in. To get mentoring and be able to take things to the next stage you need the extra income. To get the extra income, you need mentoring! Arghhhh! I will get there.

The Social Marketer

I’ve put How To Become A Social Marketer onto the Amazon / Kindle site at $8.99. The higher than usual price will (I hope) mark it as something worth getting and a cut above the usual 99c stuff that seems to be out there. I know I should put it onto Warrior as a $7 WSO too (and it will be a genuine WSO – a reduced price offer for Warrior members – the way the rules state). I know I said last time I was going to read up on the process, but I didn’t. Once again no real excuses. It will be done. Soon.

So aims for this weekend… Create WSO and push it out. Write a couple of short articles with resource boxes pointing to the WSO and perhaps a press release for this site (maybe another for the WSO).  That should be something.

In between times I will carry on posting links on Twitter, APSense and IBO, to the funnel and to this posting. Things will start moving. Slowly perhaps, but moving.

What’s Not Working in May

Well I have the new funnel set up and as suggested by Andy Waring in his free ebook ‘Ultimate Sales Funnel Blueprint’ I am throwing any traffic at it to see what sticks. The trouble is none of it seems to even making it anywhere near the target, let alone trying to stick. Herculist, European Safelist & SafeMailServices who between them should have sent out around 150,000 safelist emails and 3 times in the last 4 days, have returned no traffic at all. They had different headlines and body text although all went to the same link, but no one made it there. 5 Twitter posts, 5 on ApSense and 4 on IBO Toolbox all produced the same nil return. Looks like I might have had more success with Jingling, though I haven’t tried it yet.

I also wrote 2 articles (press releases is their on-site name) for IBOToolbox although at the time they were announced some guy was putting up links to his video every 60 seconds and pretty much occupied the whole of the front page within a short while. Article marketing is a much slower process though and I might just grab my articles back, turn them into pdfs and put them on the article depository sites that I’ve used before. These too are slow, back-burner type returns, but they are also good for brand building.

So I guess that all that’s left for list building is solo ads. Real ones, rather than what Herculist and etraffic911 / visitorshark call solo ads. I have some good sources and some good ways of verifying those sources too so let’s see what another week brings.
